Elizabeth Marsellena Miller, age 100, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017. A lifelong resident of Wethersfield, CT., she was born in Hartford, CT on January 4, 1917 to the late George P. and May (Oakley) Miller also of Wethersfield. Ms. Miller retired after 42 years of employment at First Church of Christ, Wethersfield as Church secretary and administrative assistant. Prior to that Elizabeth was employed by the Underwood Typewriter Company. A 1935 graduate of Weaver High School she held an Associates of Arts Degree from the University of Hartford (1963); Elizabeth had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years. Elizabeth was an avid reader, gardener and enjoyed following the Red Sox and UCONN sports . She was preceded in death by her brother, Harold G. Miller, Sr. and her nephew, Paul G. Miler of Ellington, Ct.. Elizabeth is survived by her sister-in-law, Lilly E. Miller of Wethersfield; her nephew Harold G. Miller of Campton Hills, IL; niece Joyce Miller Hoffman of Chadds Ford, PA; Paul’s wife Nancy Miller of Ellington, Ct. and many grand-nieces, grand nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. Services will be at First Church of Christ Wethersfield on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service in The village Cemetery, Wethersfield.
