Clara A. Nutter

Lunenburg – Clara A. (Roberts) Nutter, 74 of Lunenburg died Tuesday, July 23rd in Nashoba Valley Medical Center Ayer.  Clara was born Feb. 9, 1939 in Rumford Maine daughter of Homer and Frances (Rawley) Roberts. She moved to the Fitchburg Lunenburg area in 1961. She was a graduate of Stephens High School, Rumford Maine class of 1957 and the Maine Medical Center School of Nursing in 1960, where she became a Registered Nurse. Clara was a member of Highland Baptist Church Fitchburg, where she had been the organist for 43 years, was the former Choir and Youth Choir Director, had been a leader of the Pioneer Girls, a member of the Woman’s Ministry and Woman’s Aglow fellowship and a Sunday School Teacher. For ten years she had been the leader of the Conservative Baptist Woman’s Retreat. One of her greatest loves was being a Piano Teacher, which she had done for many years.
Clara leaves her husband of 52 years Norman Nutter, three daughters; Ruth Price and her husband Kelley of Kingston N.Y., Janet Liebfried and her husband Andrew of Lunenburg and Andrea Hawley and her husband Stephen of Reisterstown Maryland, two sons; Dale Nutter and his wife Susan of Standish Maine and Major Timothy Nutter U.S.M.C. and his wife Sarah of Jacksonville N.C., two brothers; Lawrence Roberts and his wife Janice of Buxton Maine and Homer (Mike) Roberts and his wife Virginia of Mechanic Falls Maine, a sister Linda and her husband Charles Hodgkins of Barrington N.H. and 14 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Keith Roberts.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning, July 26th at 10:00am in the Highland Baptist Church, 19 Cedar St. Fitchburg. Burial will be in Lunenburg. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8pm in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St. Fitchburg and Friday morning from 9 until 10am in the church.
