FITCHBURG -John (Jack) Scott Hay Jr., 76, died December 24th 2011, after a period of failing health at Christopher House Worcester, MA born and raised in Fitchburg to the parents John Scott Hay Sr. of Fitchburg and Mable (Dutton) Hay of Ohio; he lived for many years in Townsend before returning to Fitchburg.
Graduated Fitchburg High School class of 1953, UMASS Stockbridge School of Agriculture class of 1955, Life Member Fitchburg Lodge of Elks 49 yrs, He was also a member of; Charles W Moore Lodge A.F. & A.M., Aleppo Shrine, Scots Charitable Society of Boston, Clan Hay Society. He worked for the US Forest Service before returning to Fitchburg Plumbing Supply Co where he retired after 43 yrs.
He leaves behind a former wife, Brenda (Reynolds) Hay, of 41 years as well as two sons, Timothy John and his wife Jill and Kenneth Carl. He also leaves grandchildren Cameron, Duncan, and Maia. His companion Diane, along with relatives in Florida and many in the Hay Clan in the Fitchburg area, are also left behind.
A memorial service will be held at the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St Fitchburg on January 16th, 2012 at 1pm.
