Agnes E (Joyce) Price

Agnes E. “Aggie” (Joyce) Price, 89, a long time resident of Lunenburg passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 peacefully at her home with her husband Harvey by her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Agnes was born February 7, 1928 in Boston MA, she grew up and went to school in Haverhill and Hopkinton MA.

Agnes worked at Simonds Saw and Steel in the early1950's leaving to raise her family and assist in running several family business including Aggie's Ceramics, Price's Appliances and Price's Cider Mill. She was the proverbial “chief bottle washer and jugger” at the Cider Mill, having washed and jugged thousands of cider jugs in her 67 years at the cider mill. She retired in 2000, as the Cafeteria Manager at the T.C Passios Elementary School having worked there for a number of years.

Aggie was very active in the Lunenburg community, serving as a Girl Scout Leader and a 4 H Club instructor, teaching cooking and sewing. She was an accomplished knitter, having recently been recognized for knitting 300 pair of mittens which were donated to needy children. She was a long time member of the Lunenburg Woman’s Club and The Lunenburg Friendly Seniors. She was also an active member of the United Parish Church of Lunenburg, where she served as an usher at Sunday services. Spending time with her family is what Aggie enjoyed the most, including many camping trips to Maine and Vermont.

Agnes is survived by her husband of 67 years, Harvey E. (Half-Price) Price. Harvey and Aggie were married September 24, 1950 in Hopkinton MA and have resided in the house they built together since 1953. Agnes is also survived by two sons, Ralph H. Price of Suwanee GA, James W. Price and his wife Wendy of Jaffrey NH. Two daughters, Judy E. Haley and her husband Robert and Jeanmarie Price, all of Lunenburg; seven grandchildren, Joyce Lekaditis, Erin Haley, Melissa Chamberlain, Brandon Boucher, Stacey Price, Cody-James Sardelis and Zoe Sardelis. She is also survived by three great grand children, Ayla Chamberlain, Camden Chovan, and Haley Lekaditis. She also leaves one niece, Nadine Price and one nephew, Raymond Price Jr.  Agnes was predeceased by her only sibling, Marie C. Lester in 2007.

The Price family would like to publicly thank long time friend and neighbor Gerri Grigas, for always being only a phone call away to help Aggie in her time of need and for her caring friendship !

The family graciously request that flowers be omitted, memorial donations may be made to the United Parish Church of Lunenburg.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday January 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the United Parish Church of Lunenburg, 39 Main St. Lunenburg. A visitation time will be Thursday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the church. Burial will be in the spring at South Cemetery, Lunenburg MA. Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home of Fitchburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
